Blazing Eclipse

To get the Blazing effect start out with a new 300px X 300px canvas (or any square canvas).

Hit D on your keyboard to reset the foreground and background color to black and white.

Using the rectangular marquee tool draw a vertical rectangle exactly half the size of the canvas and fill it with black color (Alt+backspace).You will have an image like this.

Press Ctrl+D to deselect the selected area.

Now its time to apply a filter effect which you will get from Filter > Stylize > Wind, apply the settings as shown.

Press Ctrl+F for three times, this will repeat the last filter used.

Now we need to rotate the image for it we move on to Image > Rotate Canvas > 90 CCW. To make it look like this:

Now to give it an elliptical view we go to Filter > Distort > Polar Coordinates and check the option Rectangular to Polar.
The image stands like this:

Now to apply color I decide to give it a soft blue tint, for it we go to Image > Adjustment > Hue/Saturation or simply press Ctrl+U
and check the colorize option and set the values of Hue – 205, Saturation – 17, Lightness – 0.

This is according to my choice, but you feel free to experiment with the color of your own choice.

To add a special body, make a new layer and create an eclipse in the center as shown:

Fill the selection with black color (Alt+backspace) in the new layer, and apply these layer styles (Layer > Layer Styles).

Here follows the final result.
